Pirates have hijacked a Yemeni-flagged fishing boat off the coast of Somalia, the EU’s Anti-Piracy Naval Force said.
Seven pirates boarded the vessel, taking eight Somali crew members, EU NAFOR said on Monday.
EU NAFOR said in a statement that the incident is under investigation and has been classified as a hijacking.
EU NAFOR further added that it is monitoring the situation and coordinating closely with Combined Maritime Forces and Yemeni Coast Guard.
In February, another Yemeni-flagged fishing vessel was hijacked in the same waters.
