The National Consultative conference (NCC) which was supposed to officially kick-off in Mogadishu on Monday has been postponed after the Presidents of the regional states have not arrived in the capital. The plan was that the conference to open on Thursday but it was delayed until Monday dated the 5th of May, 2025.
Hirshabelle regional president, Ali Abdilahi Hussein alias Ali Guudlaawe has arrived in Mogadishu shortly. It is expected within the coming hours that Galmudug regional leaders, Ahmed Abdi Kaariye alias “Qoorqoor” will arrive in the capital. Southwest State President, Abdiasis Hussein Mohamed alias Laftagaren is due to arrive in the capital tomorrow in order to attend the conference.
No one can confirm if Puntland President, Saed Deni and Jubaland leader, Ahmed Madobe will attend the high level National Consultative Conference (NCC). The Somali Federal Gov’t is invited the head of Lasanod authority Abdikadir Firdhiye to attend the meeting for the first time. Somali President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the 11th of April, invited regional leaders to attend the Consultative Conference.
The agenda of the meeting is to unite the war with Al-Shabab.
