The Late Somali Poet, Sangub laid to rest in Jigjiga

The late Somali poet, playwright and composer of songs, Mohamud Abdilahi Isse aka “Sangub” was laid to rest in state funeral held in Jigjiga, the Ethiopia’s Somali state administrative seat on Friday.

The late Sangub was pronounced dead on Thursday in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital after sought for medical treatment.

The state burial saw the attendance of well known singers, poets and musicians from across the Somali speaking territories.

The Somali regional president, Hon. Mustafe Mohamud Cagjar who presided over the state funeral held for the late Sangub sent his sincere condolences to his family, relatives and to all Somali speaking communities for losing the great poet.

The delegates that attended the state funeral came from Somaliland, Somalia, Djibouti, and Kenya.

The body of late Sangub who perished in Addis Abab was ferried a plane that landed at Jigjiga airport.
