HARGEISA–The President of Somaliland H.E Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro on Sunday laid the foundation stone for the construction of road project connecting Baligubadle and Hargeisa. During the groundbreaking ceremony attended by high ranking officials including the president who personally launched the project’s construction. The Head of State has said that he started his first visit when it comes to Baligubadle and to officially launch the construction of the road project. He added that the project was part of election campaign and stressed that he is fulling his campaign promises. Irro stated that the construction of roads linking towns is a top priority of his administration. The Head of State emphasized that the road project is to enhance transportation, promote economic development, and improve basic services in Somaliland. Irro said: ” The road will serve as a vital link for businesses, facilitating the movement of goods and services between Baligubadle town and Hargeisa. Improved connectivity is expected to boost trade and economic activity. With a well-maintained road network, travel time between the two cities will be significantly reduced, benefiting both commuters and commercial transport.” The President called on citizens and business people to support all development projects including the construction of this vital road. He urged youngsters and truck drivers to be responsible and avoid reckless driving which is the major cause of accidents that lead to the loss of lifes and properties as well. The President said that the number of car accidents is on the rise. He called on police force and traffic to enforce the laws pertaining to the roads so that safety on the road must be a top priority for the law enforcement agencies. He further noted that traffic police must ensure that drivers have driving license. President added that the road is vital when it comes to the trade between Baligubadle town and Hargeisa. He promised that his administration will give road construction a priority and major road projects will be implemented in towns and other important areas.
