HARGEISA– Wadani party in Somaliland has hired lawyers who are expected to file an appeal at the appellate court in a case where a court in Hargeisa sentenced to months of imprisonment to street children who staged peaceful demo outside the ministry of labor and social affairs.
The opposition party wants to file an appeal so that their juveniles will be released from prison. Mr. Mohamed Sidiq Dhame, who is in charge of the youth for the party paid a visit to the juveniles who are behind bars in Mandhera prison yesterday.
Mr. Dhame said after the visit that they could neglect the kids who are languishing in Mandhera prison. He said that they live in an appalling condition where they do not have access to healthcare. The party protested against the court verdict which sent 22 street children to prison.
