The Minister of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Abdillahi Hassan Aden, together with senior ministry officials, appeared before the Economic, Finance, and Trade Committee of the House of Representatives today to present and discuss the draft national budget for the fiscal year 2026.
Accompanied by Director General Mohamed Hassan Salebaan, Accountant General Hassan Muse Khalif, and several departmental directors, the Minister provided the committee with a comprehensive overview of the proposed budget, which is currently under review by the House of Representatives for approval.
During the session, committee members raised detailed questions regarding budget management procedures, expenditure priorities, and revenue projections for 2026. Ministry officials responded thoroughly to all inquiries, outlining key aspects of the proposed financial plan.
In its closing remarks, the Economic, Finance, and Trade Committee commended the Ministry of Finance for its thorough preparation and transparent presentation of the budget details. The committee emphasized the critical importance of strong collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to ensure the national budget serves the broader interests of the Somaliland people.
