Bajaj drivers-three wheeled taxis, in Lasanod town, have stopped operations in a protest against taxes imposed on by the local government. The locals have said that it is the third day running that the three wheeled taxis have gone on strike. Bajaj has become the only mode of transport that is popular in the township and the strike has disrupted the daily day commuting of the local residents. A bajaj driver has told the local press that he paid the tax but the local government imposed them to pay more taxes. Besides the taxes enforced upon by the ministry of finance, the local government collects taxes pertaining to the license which bajaj drivers have protested against the move. The local government launched an operation which led to the confiscation of majority of Bajaj in the township.
