The Minister of Finance and Economic Development of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdillahi Hassan Aden, today held high-level talks with a senior delegation from the World Bank to fast-track the implementation of the ambitious NAGAAD Project, a major World Bank-funded initiative aimed at transforming Hargeisaās urban infrastructure.
The minister was joined by the Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Saleban, and senior officials from the Hargeisa Local Government.
During the several-hour meeting held at the ministerās office, both sides reviewed in detail the projectās execution framework, operational roadmap, implementation timeline, and the phased rollout of its components. Key focus areas include the construction and upgrading of roads, bridges, and essential public services across the capital.
The two parties reached a firm agreement to expedite all preparatory work to ensure the NAGAAD Project launches on schedule.
Notably, the project will cover all districts within the Greater Hargeisa municipality, delivering widespread improvements to the cityās infrastructure and living standards.
The NAGAAD Project marks a significant step in Somalilandās ongoing partnership with the World Bank to drive sustainable urban development and economic growth in the capital.
