The Minister in charge of Energy and Minerals Hon. Abdilahi Abdi Farah, has on Thursday announced that oil was found in the Bahdhamal-salahley area with traces of oil, lube and color.
The Minister has stated that further surveys and investigation into the discovery of crude oil well whilst drilling deep water well will be conducted and further affirmed the presence of large crude oil in Somaliland.
The New well has been drilled close to existing facilities in concession of Genel Energy.
The government of Somaliland recently announced that it will start the production of crude oil in certain wells in Somaliland as soon as possible.
Somaliland entered into oil extraction with firms the likes of Genel Energy and Rasal Khamaih.
