The high level delegation led by Puntland president, Said Abdilahi Deni has entered into two major agreements with Tongxiang provincial authorities in Jiaxing Zheijiang Chinese region. The delegation of Puntland, a semi autonomous region of Somalia has paid a courtesy call to government institutions, industries, health centers and chamber of commerce.
The delegation also held talks with Chinese regional leaders and international trading firms. The discussions were focused on the accomplishment of ongoing projects including the rejuvenation of Galkayo airport, the tarmac road linking Eyl to Garowe, the completion of Bosaso airport revamp and seeking the exploration of untapped resources be it water, electricity, fishing and the attraction of international flights. The delegation has signed a deal of twining the cities of Tongxiang with Galkayo which will benefit from the development of the town. The establishment of Horn of Africa Special Economic Zone” in Puntland which will be implemented by Tongxiang Economic Development zone. The minister responsible for trade and industry singed the accords on behalf of Puntland.
