Baku– Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud arrived in Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital on an official working visit.
The visit embarked by Somalia’s president to Baku is to implement the agreement to consolidate the bilateral ties between the two countries.
A guard of honor was lined up for the Somali President at Heydar Aliyev International Airport, which was decorated with the national flags of both countries.
The Somali President was welcomed by Yagub Eyyubov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and other officials.
President Hassan expressed deep appreciation to his Azerbaijan counterpart for the cordial reception that was accorded to his delegation.
This is the first official visit that Somali president travelled to Baku.
During his visit, Presidents of Somalia and Azerbaijan will sign historic agreements aimed at consolidating the bilateral ties between the two countries.
Somali president is expected to hold high level meetings with his Azerbaijan counterpart and government officials.
