Addis Ababa–The Somali and Oromo people-to-people conference has been commenced in the city of Adam, Oromia regional state, today.
Senior leadership of the Somali regional states, clan leaders and leaders of the Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) are in attendance of the conference.
The main objective of the conference is to bring harmony between people of the two regional states as well as to improve and strengthen their role in maintaining peace, development, and nation building.
The conference is also expected to create fertile ground for the reintegration of community members who were displaced from both regional states due to conflicts.
The conference attracted more than 2, 000 participates from both regions.
