Somali troops backed by local clan forces on Monday carried out an operation that occurred in Hilabanaaney which is nearby Jicibow district in Hiran region.
The Somali troops targeted a house whereby Al-Shabab fighters were staying according to reports.
Somali troops killed senior Al-Shabab leader by the name of Abdirashid Banaanay during the anti-terrorism operation.
According to SNA Commanders who led the operation told that several Al-Shabab fighters who were stationed in the area were also killed.
Abdirashid was reported to be notorious as he terrorized local residents.
The situation is running high after the killing of Al-Shabab leader.
The Somali National Army launched an operation which is aimed at bolstering the security and to prevent Al-Shabab attempts to conducts raids in the region.
