Somalia’s President, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on Monday held a meeting with the head of operations of country’s Air Force.
The President was briefed on the operations that the Air Force carried out pertaining to the ongoing fight against the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group of Al-Shabab.
Somalia’s Air Force is part of operations that the int’l partners carry out against Al-shabab hideouts.
The Head of State lauded the officers for their efforts when it comes to the coordinated airstrikes targeting Al-Shabab militants.
He pointed out that the airstrikes weakened the operational capacity of the militant group of Al-Shabab.
He further said that the operations also prevented the group to carry out attacks against the Somali army and the local residents.
Officers of the Air Force shared the President on the situation and the crucial plans which are aimed at enhancing the capacity of country’s Air Force.
They pledged to put into practice when it comes to the trainings that they have taken.
The Head of State further promised that his administration will play a crucial role in enhancing the operational capacity and upgrade the knowledge of the Air Force in order to execute their national duties.
The country’s Air Force is leading anti-terrorism operations for the first time particularly the airstrikes targeting Al-Shabab hideouts.
