The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, has declared that the country’s foreign policy is firmly rooted in peace, mutual respect, and good neighborly relations. He also warned neighboring countries against actions that could threaten regional stability. In a statement on current regional affairs, President Irro expressed concern over the recent hostility towards Somaliland from several countries and specifically urged Djibouti and Somalia to maintain peaceful and constructive neighborly ties. “Many countries have shown hostility towards Somaliland. I urge Djibouti and Somalia to respect peace and good neighborliness,” President Irro stated. He emphasized that the government’s diplomatic approach is based on peaceful coexistence and international respect. “Somaliland’s foreign policy is founded on good neighborliness, peaceful coexistence, and mutual respect,” he added. In addition to addressing regional concerns, President Irro also spoke about the severe drought conditions that continue to affect many parts of Somaliland. He revealed that the ongoing drought has forced many families to leave their homes in search of water and pasture in other regions. “The drought is still ongoing in many parts of the country. I pray to Allah to send us beneficial rain,” the President said. He called on citizens to unite in prayer and solidarity during this difficult period. “Many people have been forced to migrate from their regions to other areas. We pray that Allah accepts our supplications, grants us beneficial rainfall, and relieves us from the drought,” he said. As the Eid celebrations begin, President Irro also urged Somalilanders to uphold their traditional values of compassion and social unity by supporting relatives, neighbors, and vulnerable members of society. “I remind everyone to take care of their relatives and neighbors so that we can all celebrate Eid together in happiness,” President Irro concluded.
