Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF)- has chosen its long standing foreign affairs secretary Abdirahman Mahdi as the new chair.
This comes after the party convened in Godey town.
The former chair, Mohamed Omar Osman has returned from the party.
Mahdi garnered 340 votes while his main rival received 247 votes.
ONLF laid down its arms following a historic peace accord it signed with Ethiopian Federal Gov’t in Asmara at the end of 2018.
The party returned come and registered as national party in Ethiopia’s Somalia region which is entitled to contest the local elections.
