NISA carries out operation in Baidoa to bolster security

Soldiers of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in Southwest State last night carried out an operation in Baidoa, the regional capital of Bakool. The operation was led by the Southwest state NISA Commander, Captain Abdifatah Isak Adan. The Security Forces launched an operation in which they searched the different villages in Baidoa. The Commander leading the operation spoke to the local media and said that the objective behind the operation was to bolster security in Baidoa ahead of the preparations of the Eid-al-fitr festival.

The security forces stopped vehicles and motorbikes that ferry passengers from the different villages in Baidoa. NISA Commander flanked by officers from the security agencies in Southwest state embarked on an inspection tour to the biggest market in Baidoa. They personally interacted with local residents who were shopping there. He urged the local residents to work security forces in a bid to ensure the security of the town and to prevent any acts of insecurity. Al-Shabab militants carry out assassinations and explosions although Baidoa is enjoying a period of stability in these days. It is  also the administrative seat of Southwest State. Al-Shabab fighters are reported to have amassed fighters in Bakool and Bay regions after the they were badly defeated in Middle Shabelle province.
