Missing Somali teen: only one tip received, despite call for information

A week after the Antwerp public prosecutor launched an investigation concerning Samira Rage, only one tip has received about the missing 18-year-old, according to reports.

It is also not (yet) clear whether this is a useful tip, reports G.V.A. The Somali teenager has been missing for almost a year.

Samira – who has Somali nationality – was last seen on 18 August 2018. At that time she lived with her mother, brothers and sisters in the Bijlstraat in Borgerhout.

She is of an average build and has dark skin, dark eyes and dark hair down to the shoulders. Samira speaks Somali and hardly any Dutch or English.

Anyone with more information about Samira has been asked to contact the police via the toll-free number 0800-30.300 or via the e-mail address opsporingen@police.belgium.eu.

The police also addressed Samira herself, asking her to contact the investigators.
