The Mayor of Hargeisa Cllr. Abdikarim Ahmed Moge while addressing participants at the 16th Hargeisa International Book Fair welcomed visitors from different countries to Hargeisa.
Mayor Abdikarim stated the importance of youths in national development. He urged Somaliland Youths to think outside the box to create opportunities in the country.
“I call upon all youngsters to apply knowledge learnt in varsities to create jobs and uplift the country economically”, he said.
The city boss reaffirmed his wish for a borderless Africa where people and goods move freely.
He said “Our visitors from Africa welcome to Somaliland. We want an Africa where people move and trade freely.”
He concurred that the theme of “Resilience” portrays Somaliland as a nation since it had over the years overcome unsurmountable obstacles.
He called for Africa to recognize Somaliland as an independent country.
The mayor promised to consult with some of the representatives of visiting countries to inform them the plight and quest of Somaliland international recognition agenda.
