Gov’t, 3 political parties hold meetings with Finnish Horn Peace Envoy

The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail (Sayli’i), has received the Special Envoy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in charge of peace in the Horn of Africa, MP Sultan Said Ahmed, who came to visit the country.

The meeting of H.E. Sayli’i and the Ambassador of Finland who flanked byt the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Isse Keyd Mohamud and Livestock and Fisheries Development, Hon. Said Sulub Mohamed never provided any details on the issues they discussed.

The Finnish envoy has had a meeting with the leaders of the opposition parties and some of the civil society.

Chairman of WADDANI Party Hirsi Ali X. Hassan, who posted a message on his Twitter account, said, “We had a meeting with the special envoy of Finland in charge of peace and reconciliation in the Horn of Africa and MP Sultan Said Ahmed”.

Mr. Hirsi added, “We have complimented on the achievements and addressed Somaliland’s current Political crises.”

Ruling party leaders held a meeting with the Special Envoy of Finland appointed to the Horn of Africa Region, His Excellency Sultan Said Ahmed.

Finland Peace envoy for the Horn MP Said stated that he is interested on behalf of the European Union to mediate in the dispute regarding the elections in in Somaliland.

For their part, the leaders of the KULMIYE party, who gave details on the issues of the Somaliland elections and the points of contention between the opposition parties, declared to the Finnish delegation that they are always ready for dialogue and anything to resolve the current conflict, stressing that the President The nation, the leader of the KULMIYE party, HE. On the other hand, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland in charge of peace in the Horn of Africa, who was recently appointed, had meetings with the President of Djibouti Ismail Omar Gele and the deputy PM of Somalia.
