Somaliland’s FM Dr. Essa Keyd Mohamud will be visiting Taiwan in the coming days at the invitation of the government of Taiwan under the leadership of President Tsai-Ing-Wen. The FM of Somaliland will be leading a high level delegation including the current finance minister Dr. Sa’ad Ali Shire and the planning and national development, Hon. Omar Ali Abdilahi. The delegation is to have an audience with President Tsai-Ing-Wen, and will meet with other senior government officials of Taiwan. This is the first time a high-level delegation of ministers is visiting Taiwan since Somaliland and Taiwan have established bilateral ties in June 2020. So far, the two countries have cooperated in the areas of agriculture, information technology, health, and fisheries. This trip marks the first visit to Taiwan for all members of the delegation. The aim is to provide them with a deeper understanding of recent political and economic developments in Taiwan.
