Addis Ababa, August 28, 2018 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed labeled China as an important and strategic development partner to Ethiopia.
In an exclusive interview with CGTN, he said “China has been a very important and strategic partner in our all development efforts and economic transformation by ways of investment, trade, finance, and availing capacity building training, among others.”
“China was a very good supportive in all our transformative endeavors,” he said, adding “the relationship between Ethiopia and China has deep roots as our two countries share history of being ancient civilization and in having rich culture and history.”
Commenting on the upcoming Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) which will take place in Beijing in early September, he said the Forum will further cement friendship and spirit of cooperation that already existed between China and Africa.
The forum mainly aims to promote win-win cooperation between China and Africa, he added.
“Also it will enhance relationship between Ethiopia and China,” the Premier noted.
When asked the vision he had for Africa, the Premier said “The hope I have for Africa youth is to change the leadership style and to think how Africa could be a model for global youth movement not only in politics but also in trade, innovation, and intercommunication among African countries.”
