The National Consultative & Rectification Forum has launched a new political union in Hargeisa on Saturday.
The Forum said that it is time that Somaliland have more political union to take part in the upcoming elections.
The Consultative and Rectification Forum together with other members of the public have unveiled a new political union which will run in the upcoming elections in SL but the Forum has not yet revealed the name of the political union.
The Forum urged the government to hold elections on time as agreed.
It also advised the country to avoid electoral delays and time extensions which are constraints to Somaliland fragile democracy.
Professor Abdisalan Yasin who is a member of Somaliland National Consultative & Rectification Forum has strongly blasted in what he described SL’s normalization of time extension.
He said the majority of SL and the youth are out of the country’s political platforms.
He said: ” The fisrt to break the country’s constitution is always the current government. We can prove clearly and loudly. The only condition for time extension is a good example of this case.”
Somaliland is gearing up to hold local council and parliamentary election within nine months and a presidential poll will follow but its not yet clear when the voter registration of new political unions will commence in Somaliland.
