The Government of Taiwan has awarded specialized educational scholarships focused on security, defense, and professional development to seven senior officers from the Republic of Somaliland. The recipients include members of both the Somaliland National Armed Forces and the Somaliland Police Force.
The scholarship program aims to strengthen the officers’ knowledge, skills, and expertise, enabling them to play a greater role in advancing Somaliland’s security and defense institutions.
A formal send-off ceremony took place at the Ministry of Defense and National Security in Hargeisa, attended by high-ranking officials including:

During the event, speakers highlighted the deepening bilateral cooperation and friendship between Taiwan and Somaliland. The selected officers will undertake advanced training and academic programs at leading institutions and training centers in Taiwan.
The recipients were encouraged to fully utilize this valuable opportunity and to return with enhanced capabilities that will contribute directly to the security, stability, and development of Somaliland.
