Somaliland Livestock Minister Meets WFP to Strengthen Cooperation on Livestock Projects

The Minister of Livestock and Rural Development, Hon. Omar Shu’ayb Mohamed, recently held a high-level meeting with officials from the World Food Programme (WFP) to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and expedite the implementation of key livestock initiatives. The meeting focused on key areas such as increasing livestock production, providing better support to pastoral communities, and building resilience against the impacts of climate change. Minister Mohamed expressed his appreciation for the strong and consistent partnership between the ministry and the World Food Programme. He also presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Khalid Qudsi, the Head of the WFP Office in Somaliland, in recognition of his leadership and contributions. Mr. Qudsi was accompanied by members of the WFP technical team. The ministry and WFP are currently collaborating on the implementation of the KOICA-funded project, as well as other livestock development programs aimed at improving the livelihoods of rural communities in Somaliland.
