Somali Forces Bomb Al-Shabab safe house in Bu’ale town

On Thursday, the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) conducted an airstrike in collaboration with international partners, targeting senior Al-Shabab leaders who were holding a high-level meeting in Bu’ale town in the Middle Jubba region. The names of the targeted leaders have not been released by NISA. According to a statement released by NISA, there were casualties, including deaths, as a result of the airstrike. The statement also mentioned that Al-Shabab fighters were among those killed and that vehicles and weapons were destroyed. The Ministry of Defense in Somalia has confirmed that a senior Al-Shabab leader, Mohamed Abdi Hamud, also known as Jacfar Gurey, was killed in the airstrike in Bu’ale town on October 26. The ministry also revealed that Hamud was one of the founders of the terrorist group and held various positions within it. Bu’ale has been under the control of Al-Shabab for the past 20 years and remains one of their strongholds in the Middle Jubba region.
