The Somali Army Chief, General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohomud, held a high-level discussion with U.S. Commander of Special Operations Command, Africa, Major General Claude K. Tudor Jr. on Tuesday in Mogadishu. The focus of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation in the areas of security, enhance the quality of the Somali National Army (SNA), and expedite operations against terrorist groups. During the meeting, the two sides agreed on the importance of increasing training, exchanging expertise, and providing technical support to upgrade the capacity of the SNA, in order to ensure lasting security in the country. They also agreed to consolidate working cooperation between the SNA and international partners, specifically in counterterrorism operations against terrorist groups in the country.
