The National Electoral Commission of the Republic of Somaliland successfully concluded its 4th BRIDGE training workshop (Building Resources in Democracy, Governance, and Elections) in Hargeisa. The intensive five-day program was specifically designed for electoral officials at the district, regional, and national levels, including department directors, with the goal of unifying their understanding, sharpening technical skills, and building a cohesive and effective electoral management system. Participants delved deeply into the core principles, legal frameworks, and modern techniques of Election Dispute Resolution (EDR). The training placed special emphasis on the critical role of EDR in fostering public confidence in elections, handling complaints, and managing disputes in a transparent, fair, and efficient manner. The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD), an international organization dedicated to strengthening democratic institutions and supporting Somaliland’s electoral processes.
