The Somali National Army’s Danab Special Forces, in collaboration with the Jubaland Dervish Forces, specifically the brigade known as Birjeh, carried out a successful operation in the Lower Jubba region, resulting in a heavy defeat for the militant group Al-Shabab. The allied forces conducted a planned operation in several areas west of the Buulo Haji settlement, including Wadajir, Halimo Addey, Boqoqaha, Karas Kukiye, and Hajini. According to an official statement issued by the Jubaland authority, at least 12 members of Al-Shabab were killed in the operation, as they were using underground caves as hideouts. The security forces also successfully removed landmines that had been placed by Al-Shabab on the roads connecting the targeted settlements. This operation comes at a time when the Somali Security forces have intensified their efforts to combat Al-Shabab in the Jubba and Shabelle regions.
