Somaliland Police Issue a statement regarding the murder of two men in Salel province

Somaliland police confirmed on Tuesday that they have detained two suspects in connection with a murder that occurred in Salel province, where two people were killed. The police are currently pursuing other perpetrators of this heinous crime. According to Somaliland Police Spokesman Colonel Abdiasis Sheikh Ismail, the victims, Yusuf Abdilahi Hussein and Mustafe Jama Farah, were killed on January 18 in Indho-Biraale settlement. Ismail stated that the police immediately launched an investigation and have arrested two suspects, while others who are still at large are being pursued. He emphasized that those responsible for the murder will not be pardoned and that the police will take necessary action to bring them to justice. Ismail urged local residents to remain calm and wait for an official statement from the police. He stated, “The murder that occurred in the settlement is a disgusting act that goes against our customs and traditions. We strongly warn anyone who commits such a heinous crime that they will face the consequences of their actions.” The police are currently investigating and conducting a manhunt to arrest those who aided in the murder. Ismail also called on the public to share any information they have about the suspects involved in the crime. While details about the incident are still unclear, reports from the area suggest that armed assailants ambushed the two victims and opened fire, resulting in their deaths.
