The Minister of Investment and Industry of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Said Mohamed Burale, held high-level talks on 1st December 2025 with a delegation from The International Centre for Investment aimed at deepening investment ties and strategic cooperation.

The Minister was joined by Deputy Minister of Investment and Industrial Development, Eng. Accompanying Mr. Aldhahi was Prof. Faisal Mohamed Ali, Senior Advisor on Strategic Relations for the Bargains and Horn of Africa region, who is based in the United Kingdom.

The discussions focused on exploring new investment opportunities across multiple sectors and identifying areas where Somaliland and The International Centre for Investment can establish long-term collaboration and joint initiatives.

Minister Burale emphasized the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for foreign direct investment and highlighted Somaliland’s strategic advantages and untapped potential in key economic sectors.

Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Director of the Industry Department, Mrs. Hanna Mohamed Yasin.

The talks concluded on a highly positive note, with both sides expressing mutual understanding and a shared commitment to move forward with concrete investment projects in the near future.

The visit concluded on a warm note with an honorary dinner hosted by the Chairman of the opposition Waddani Party, Hon. Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan. This visit marks another step in Somaliland’s ongoing efforts to attract international investors and strengthen economic partnerships on the global stage.

The meeting was held between the leadership of Somaliland’s Ministry of Investment and the executives of The International Centre for Investment, a private Saudi-owned company. It was not an intergovernmental meeting between Somaliland and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, contrary to reports by some media outlets.
