In coordination with SNA, U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), carried out airstrikes targeting Alshabab hideouts in areas nearby El-Baraf district in Middle Shabelle region.
Initial assessment of the operation indicate that combat vehicles belonging to Alshabab terrorist group were destroyed.
The report issued by the Somali gov’t said that there were no civilian casualties in the wake of the airstrike targeting Alshabab hideouts.
The joint operation was conducted in close cooperation between SNA and US Africa Command.
The operation was aimed at weakening the capabilities of Alshabab militant group.
The Somali gov’t in conjunction with its friends in the world undertook efforts in a bid to stabilize Somalia and eliminate the threat posed by Alshabab to Somalia and to the rest of the world.
