MOGADISHU– Three former Somaliland government officials who held ministerial posts under president Silanyo is reported to have traveled to Mogadishu, the capital of war torn Somalia this week.

Former state minister for justice, Mr. Khadar Ahmed Derie, former deputy FM and later deputy planning minister, Mr. Ahmed Aden Ismail aka Keyse, and former assistant minister for health, Mr. Hasan Dahir Dhimbil are the former Somaliland gov’t officials who have embarked on unknown trip to Mogadishu.

The travel embarked upon by the three former Somaliland gov’t ministers is still not obvious and we do not known whether it is of political or of personal reasons.

Deputy minister for planning, Mr. Ahmed Aden Ismail and the State minister for justice Mr. Khadar Ahmed Derie were among Somaliland’s ruling Kumiye party Central Council.

The former deputy health minister, Mr. Hasan Dahir was sacked by ex-president Silanyo but later switched to Wadani opposition party and is a member of its central council. There is a ban in place where Somaliland citizens are barred traveling to Somalia. Somaliland declared its independence from Somalia in 1991 but it has not gotten an official recognition from the world.
