The government of Somaliland has lamented that the ceasefire it declared on Friday night was flouted on Saturday morning.
A terse statement by the Ministry of interior said that a base of the Somaliland National Army in Las Anod was attacked by terrorist militia on Saturday morning.
The statement further noted that the National Army successfully defended itself from the attack and are currently on high alert in their military base in Las’Anod.
This attack comes after the government announced an unconditional ceasefire several hours earlier, on Friday night, expecting their adversaries to follow cue and implement it too.
