Somaliland Receives 30, 000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines

Somaliland received 30, 000 additional doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine to boost the fight against the pandemic in the country. The Covid-19 vaccines were donated by the French government. SL health ministry officials have expressed thanks to the French government and Covax facility for the donation. They have also thanked WHO and Unicef which play a crucial role in bringing the vaccines and raising awareness when it comes to Somaliland populace. WHO official, while speaking at the handing over ceremony of the Covid-19 vaccines has said that WHO is committed to prevent the pandemic and is focused on raising awareness, diagnosing and treatment of patients that contract the virus. This is a renewed efforts to protect Somaliland populace from the pandemic that claimed the lives of millions of people across the world. This is the third batch of doses of the Oxford AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine  that Somaliland government received since the outbreak of the pandemic back in 2020.
