LONDON (Alliance News) – RA International Group PLC on Wednesday said it secured a contract from URS Group Inc, a subsidiary of AECOM, to provide construction services in Somalia.
Ra International shares were trading 13% higher on Wednesday at 75.00 pence each.
The total contract value for the construction services provider is just over USD9.1 million, it said. The project is for a duration of eleven months and is expected to begin in late 2018.
Construction & civil engineering firm AECOM is a new client of RA International. The project involves repairing an asphalt runway for the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Somalia.
“We are pleased to have partnered with AECOM to secure this latest contract in Somalia,” said Chief Executive Soraya Narfeldt.
“The area where the project is to be undertaken is one where we have been working for six years and already have a team on the ground,” added Nerfeldt.
