Ministry of livestock of Somaliland particularly the department of veterinary service on Wednesday launched officially vaccination exercise for camels in Odweyne province. The inoculation drive commenced in four major districts of Odweyne province according to the ministry officials. Thousands of camels will be vaccinated during the inoculation exercise which is smoothly underway. Doctors from the ministry of livestock particularly the veterinary department are implementing the vaccination exercise. The ministry took the initiative of vaccinating camels to cushion herders against losses. Livestock rearing is the main source of livelihood in the country and so their is need for quick response to mitigate the situation. The government has spent a lot of money when it comes to the vaccination and procurement of another drugs consignment to facilitate regional wide exercise is on process that aims to cover thousands of Camels in the province.
