Developed by China to counter modern Western aircraft, the PL-15 is considered one of the most sophisticated air-to-air missiles in the world. It features an active radar seeker and an estimated range exceeding 200 kilometers, enabling it to engage enemy aircraft long before they come within striking distance.
For Pakistan, the induction of the PL-15 represents a substantial upgrade in air combat capabilities — especially in the context of its regional rivalry with India.
