48 Al shabab militant groups killed in airstrikes conducted by NISA

National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA), revealed in an official statement that with in the past hours that 48 Alshabab militant soldiers were killed in airstrikes that took place in Hiran and Middle Shabelle provinces. According to the press release, NISA stated that the airstrikes were conducted by NISA in conjunction with the Somali National Army (SNA). The first two airstrikes targeted in Daarul-Nima, and Kawthar in Middle Shabelle regions.

The other two airstrikes targeted in Beerayabaal in Hiiran region. 17 Al shabab militant soldiers including senior leaders were killed during the airstrike that targeted in Daarul-Nimco district in Middle Shabelle region. Al shabab’s combat vehicles were also destroyed according to the press release. 19 Alshabab fighters were killed in the second airstrike which targeted in Kawthar district in Lower Shabelle region. Armed vehicles belonging to Alshabab fighters were destroyed.

In Beerayabaal district in Hiran region, 12 Alshabab fighters were killed. The airstrikes were conducted by SNA in conjunction with National Intelligence and Security Agency forces. The operations underway in Hiran as well as Middle Shabelle regions are part of an ongoing efforts to get rid the threat posed by extremist groups including the likes of Ashabab from Somalia.
